Effective Survey Design from Planning to Implementation

Effective Survey Design from Planning to Implementation In-Person

Presented by Starr Hoffman, Director of Planning and Assessment for the UNLV Libraries and Bridget Kelly, Project Coordinator for the Cannon Survey Center, this 90-minute workshop will provide an overview of survey planning, design, and implementation.

Attendees will learn how to select an appropriate research method and consider the benefits of selecting an existing survey instrument versus designing an original survey. The session will include guidance on constructing effective survey questions (considering question types, phrasing, order, and answer scales). Finally, the presenters will briefly cover the logistics of survey administration and basic survey analysis.

This workshop is aimed at UNLV graduate students, faculty, and administrative staff interested in learning more about how to design and administer surveys.
