Open Data for Civic Engagement In-Person

Are you interested in researching our local community?

Are you intrigued by how Las Vegas compares to other cities?

With data ranging from homelessness, local school ratings, new businesses, neighborhood livability, and police use of force, data can inform us about what life is like in our communities so that we can work to improve them.

The city of Las Vegas has collected a wide variety of datasets that are free and open for use.

In this workshop participants will be introduced to the Open Data Portal and will gain experience locating relevant datasets. Participants will be encouraged to think critically about these sources, ask questions, and will leave empowered to act in their community.
